Cabling Services

Cables or Wi-Fi?

Every home wants to enjoy high-quality wifi to connect to all your phones, tablets, laptops and computers.  And while wifi is an essential part of a home or office set up, where possible a fixed cable connections will always be superior. Every home (and office) these days will need both a good wifi network as well as fixed cable connections to the internet router.

It may be because your home is a complex shape or has multiple stories.  Perhaps you have a sleepout or stand-alone garage ‘Man Cave’ that wifi struggles to deliver.  Or it may simply be that a computer or TV that using a lot of internet data places too high a demand on the wifi network.

If you have people in your home who enjoy computer gaming or working with on-line graphics and video, then a direct cable (ethernet) connection will be likely be best.  Using the wifi for these sorts of tasks will reduce available bandwidth for the other users and potentially not deliver a high-quality experience to the person using all the bandwidth.

The answer is to have good wifi as well as access to a cabled network – depending on all the variables at play in your home or office.  So, if you find your wifi experience isn’t what you need, then you may require some cabled ports to spread the load.

Our technicians can run ethernet cable discretely through your home or office – in ceilings, under floors and through walls and install jack points on the walls.  Whatever is needed to deliver those cable connections without you even noticing them.
